EASTER WEEKEND

WOWOWOW...this week has flown by....I can't believe it is already easter ....and the end of my daughter's spring break. We really had a nice time doing crafts and staying up late eating popcorn and watching some weird movies and so on. It was really nice and relaxing.

My hunnie also took off for a few days this past week so we all just hung out and did whatever...we became total couch potatoes and it felt great.

I thought I would share with all of you a beautiful sunset that we just happen to catch two nights ago. It almost looks like the sky is on fire but what a beautiful florida sky.
As the old sailor's quote goes: "Red sky at night, sailor's delight...red sky at morning, sailor take warning."
Sure enough the next day was beautiful...no rain no storms... anyway---here is the pic:

okay...I am sure you know by now but if not....I retired from working at a prison...and everyone who worked there had this lil comparison hanging up, just to help us figure out why we were there..lol...Enjoy it:

WORK VS PRISON

Just in case you ever got the two mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer.

IN PRISON ........... you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK ............ youspend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

INPRISON.......... you get three meals a day
AT WORK ............ you only get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.

IN PRISON........... you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK ........... you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON.......... the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK........... you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON ......... you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK ........... you get fired for watching TV and playing games.
IN PRISON.......... you get your own toilet.
AT WORK ........... you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON........... they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK............ you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON.......... all expenses are paid by the taxpayer with no work required.
AT WORK........... you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON.......... you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK ........... you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON .......... you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK............ they are called managers.

So ...... someone please remind me why we work?

I hope that you all have a GREAT weekend and a terrific EASTER...Enjoy the time with your families and friends and remember to HUG someone you LOVE!!
PEACE!!!

SPRING BREAK

The spring break insanity has started here in the sunshine state. Spring Breakers from all over the country have invaded the beaches, nightclubs and bars...along with certain streets in certain towns and they have officially taken over for the next two weeks. I am so glad I have the safety of my home to retreat to...because it is crazy out there. Also all the schools in our fair state are on spring break...so for some insane reason the stores are all jam packed and the traffic is unreal. The bright spot in all of this is my daughter has been home since last thursday (when her break began) and she is home until the 28th. I love it when she is home because we do so much together.
Which brings me to my next point:
my hunnie and I had been talking about making our own patchwork blankets and pillows because we really liked the one his sister made for us...and we would like to make a bigger one to cover our bed and do one for our daughter. Well as a major surprise to me...hunnie showed up with a BRAND new sewing machine for me. I always wanted one because I wanted to teach myself how to use them and maybe sew a few projects. I know nothing about sewing. That is a tidbit I just never was never interested in. My mom sews big time...my sister is an interior decorator and sews alot of her projects just to eliminate the middle man and her stuff has been in magazines....but of course it leave to me to not have an interest in it.

Well now the sewing bug has hit me and my hunnie showed up at home with the following:

I know it may not be really special or fancy but it is the best sewing machine I have ever seen. It shocks me to no end that my hunnie actually waded through Walmart and took time to look at the machines and picked out this one. All together it does 25 different stitches...I have tried them all practicing and seeing what they look like and they are awesome!!! I love it!!!
Of course my hunnie has to buy accessories because I am so homebound that he knows that it is just best that I have everything I need around me so that I can start and finish something. Well he and my daughter bought tons of material and threads etc...and my daughter and I have done one project already...I think sheis just as excited as I am. Please do not laugh at our little project but I am very proud of it considering I have never sewn before in my life. Here are the pics:

Back of Pillow:

Not anything special but we made it and that is all that counts. It is so fluffy and comfortable I cannot believe it. Well watch out sewing world...I am on the loose. LOL

So this week we are going to be playing around with the new machine and see what we can come up with. Have I mentioned yet that I have also started to crochet. OMG.... I have never done that either....but I looked it up on the internet and have started my own lil project....too cool....I am making a scarf for my hunnie for his job...they can only be either brown or black...and he wanted black...so I am working on it. Boy that really keeps your head busy.. and time flies when you are sitting there just crotching time away.

Also this past weekend I worked on some more scrapbook pages.... I really have to start putting together my albums before I forget what goes where, which would be typical for me...LOL.

Well folks I really hope that your monday is MARVELOUS and remember to HUG someone you LOVE...hug them TWICE...just for good measure!!!
PEACE!!!!

JUST ANOTHER DAY

Howdy all...wow...I seem to be on an upswing because this is yet another entry in the same week...oh my heart be still...LOL

I just thought I would tell you all about a few tidbits  because I have absolutely no memory if I have already mentioned it or not.
First is that the big dating scene between my daughter (15) and the senior boy (18) is over. I had a feeling things were coming to an end...I could just tell being on the outside of things...and I was all prepared to be extremely supportive and understanding and my big shoulder was ready to be cried upon. BUT I am WRONG. My daughter could careless. She said it is just a high school relationship and nothing that was ever going to be permanent. She said he was not even mature even to say anything to her face...he wrote a note to her. She let me read it....he is just a sorry son of a gun....he claims that he is under stress and the pressure from his friends he just cannot take anymore. The pressure being that he should be dating a cheerleader...or a girl that "gives it up"...instead of an individualist girl like my daughter is. I guess I should explain. My daughter cannot stand to follow trends...she has her own definite way of dressing and acting and approaching things and responding. She is far from being screamish, nor air headed, nor dorky nor any of those things...actually she does not really believe in labels...that is why she says she is an individualist...well...his friends were very intimidated by that because she did not fill their idea of a mold of a girlfriend...she also can out mouth any one who has something smart to say to her. So this so called boyfriend broke it off...and my daughter almost seems relieved...and I am glad. She is a lot stronger then I was at her age and everytime I turn around she really does surprise me. Again...How Very Proud I Am Of Her.

The next lil tidbit is that...my parents have finally returned from their cruise after 15 days at sea...and they had a blast. My mother unfortunately came home with a cold but outside of that...they cannot stop talking about it all. They went with two other couples and they all did everything together. They partied the nights away...and travelled and explored during the days. I am so thrilled for them....
My dad still insists that everyone on the boat were old fogies...he said they were all senior citizens...I asked him what was the age of these old fogies considering he is 80 something...he said they had to be around 90. So they were the senior citizens...LOL
Now I did not ask him what he thought he was considered because I really did not want to burst his bubble (LOL) but he just cracked me up.
Well he asked me to look up travel packages and such to Chile and Argentina because that is where they want to go next time. Not on a cruise because this time they would like to travel the country side and discover the countries on their own...which they have done all their lives ... so I am looking for deals for them...I cannot believe they are already planning ahead. My daughter told my dad that he is not allowed to go anywhere unless she is travelling with them...She wants to discover toooo!!!!!

Okay...now that I have bored you all with my lil tidbits...I hope you all have a WONDERFUL wednesday..HUG someone you love-----PEACE!!!!!!!

HAD THE YUCKKIES

WOWOWOWOW....ever since my birthday I have been sick in bed with the stomach virus that is going around. When my son came down..he became sick the night before he was heading back.... the day after he left...my daughter came down with it....and the day after that is when it hit me. OMG!!! that was the WORST stomach virus I have been through. It really drained me out for just about a week. Today is the first day I can sit up at the puter and not feel sick to my stomach and no dizziness and such. I cannot believe how fast that hit all of us. When my son was not feeling well he thought it might have been the food we ate when we went out to dinner...but the rest of us were fine...but then one thing led to another and all of us got it one after another. By the time my son got back to Tennessee he wound up in the emergency room and that is when the doc told him that the stomach virus is spreading like wild fire and is air borne also...this is insane. I am just glad that sick feeling is finally gone. My son recovered alot more quickly then the rest of us... but we are all doing better today. I guess the positive side of this is I dropped 15 pounds in almost a week... geezzzzz what a way to lose weight.

Have I mentioned a slight surprise we received about two weeks ago???? Well as usual I was asleep in my recliner...and three of my dogs were in the same room with me zzzing out also...well my hunnie came home and I heard him open the door of the room I was in and yelling my name bellowing something about where did this puppie come from.... I jumped up (which in itself is a site to be seen) and sure enough a new born rottie puppie was on the floor next to our female rottie Ginger. We never knew that she had gone in heat nor did we know she was pregnant..she never gained any weight and her bellie did not drop. Yet within two hours she gave birth to THREE pups. OMG.... we DO NOT need any more pups...it is insane here as it is. Well to make things just a bit more interesting...they must be mutant pups because in no time they have nice biting teeth...they are walking and hopping and jumping...their eyes are wide open...and they bark and growl...go figure. All females.... my daughter says it is just tooooo much PMS for one household to take...LOL
Here is a pic of the cuties...

They are huge..... I call them sausages... but what adorable lil faces they have. So they have added more spice to life...I just cannot believe they are barking and growling at two weeks....none of our other liters ever did that...they think they are so tough!!!  LOL

Well.... hopefully I will start feeling better to get online now and catch up on all my reading and such...I think I have alot to catch up on. Have a GRAND weekend everyone...and Hug someone you love....PEACE!!!

BIRTHDAY BLAST!!!

AHHHHHH!!! The big day has come and gone and I truly had a blast. My day started off GRAND...my son's flight was suppose to arrive at 9:30 at night...but he went to the airport in the morning to see if they had any openings to get here early...and sure enough...he caught a flight and called his dad and told him to pick him up at 9:30 in the morning...... so when my hunnie got home it was such a grand surprise to see my son walk in with him. Now that is what I call a GREAT present. He wanted to get here earlier so that we could spend more time together...and I am so glad he did.

Throughout the day we chatted and he got to spend some great time with his dad and his sister so that made me very happy....everyone outside playing around working on cars just fiddling with whatever. We really had a nice time. I actually went outside and stayed out there for about 30 minutes (which is alot for me) and it felt great.

Then around 5:00 we left to go out to dinner....I would have been very happy with an all you can eat buffet type of place...but my hunnie and the kids decided to take me out to LongHorns Steakhouse. OH MY GOSH---the food was delicious and it seemed we ate for hours on end. We talked about everything under the sun and laughed deliriously and just kept on eating. Everyone decided to go to Walmart to see what fun deals we could find.... Well to make a LONG story short...we did some wild shopping...I got my crazy daughter some fun makeup stuffies...(no serious makeup...lip gloss and such) and I found a couple of things for me...nothing special...just things I needed..but the BIG NEWS is that when we got home...myfamily surprised me with some GREAT gifts. My hunnie bought me a FANTASTIC new digital camera...I just about cried...because I have missed mine so much...it holds up to 272 pics in the memory (WOWOWOW) and the pictures are so much sharper and it comes with all kinds of buttons...LOL I am in heaven.
My little girl bought me an Angel Pendant for my necklace...I have never had one even after all these years of collecting angels.... and now I finally have one and it is GORGEOUS...I cried...it is just so beautiful and means so much to me.
My son bought his gift in tennessee...it is a wooden basket (really awesome looking) filled with all kinds of scented stuffies for me....just what I love...so again I have hit paradise.

I am telling you I had such a WONDERFUL birthday and it really made me feel so good...It really took so much out of me to leave the house...but it was so very worth it...and having my son here was a great incentive.

My son left late late thursday night....he had to get back because he has to be at work early saturday morning...He got to drive his car back...we had it here...so I just hope he drives carefully...but he is a very safe driver. When he hugged me good bye I could swear I heard my ribs crack...that boy is big and squeezes the breath out of you...LOL.
I hope he can come back soon for another visit...I really loved him being here. My other son called me last night to wish me a happy birthday and apologized for not being able to get here...he could not get off from work...but he told me to watch my mailbox because a surprise is on the way...he is too cute...he had me rolling on the phone... I really miss my boys...but it is so nice to know that they are doing well on their own.

Well I am getting tired again so I will end this here....but for all of you that sent me wishes....THANKS EVER SO MUCH...I so appreciate your kindness...it just added such joy to my day!!!!
Have a FABULOUS friday all...and hug someone you love!!!
PEACE!!!!!!!!

HAPPY MARCH!!!

Hello everyone....HAPPY MARCH!!!
It just seems that time is flying by...I am really stunned. I do have a believe it or not piece to write about. As everyone knows we have absolutely NO LUCK when it comes to cars. Every time we turn around another car breaks down and we have to get another one..(always used)...I have also complained numerous times that my yard looks like a junk yard...it makes me crazy. But I do not fuss too much at my hunnie because fixing motors and cars and such is his biggest hobby...he does NOT drink or hang out in bars or take off with his buddies to do whatever...he is very much a home body and it just happens that cars are his thing...so I am blessed. WELL...shock of my life is that my hunnie got rid of 4 (count it peeps) actually four cars. WOWOWOWOW...I am still sitting here shocked. We actually have grass where I thought there was none. I do not know what has gotten into him but I am grateful...BTW...he did not replace them with other cars. Just thought I would share abit of that happy news...at least for me it is.

I feel oh so bad for those stuck in all that white cold stuff....come on down here....go to the beach ...warm up and wait for the weather up north to thaw out....we have plenty of sunshine to share.

I also forgot to mention that we upgraded our satellite programming...we had to because the machine we were using is obsolete and it went out about 10 days ago...well we now get a  channel called Do It Yourself Network....it is awesome...at least for me it is. They have a jewelry program, knitting program, scrapbooking one etc..etc..etc. I am in heaven...so of course tons of ideas are floating through my head.... I think it is going in overload.lol.

Below I have included an Irish blessing that I came upon...I love those...they just make me feel good. I hope you all have a joyous march and of course a TERRIFIC tuesday!!!!
PEACE!!!

May green be the grass
you walk on,
M
ay blue be the skies
above you,
M
ay pure be the joys
that surround you,
M
ay true be the hearts
that love you.
