THE WEEK IS OVER!!!

WELL...that crazy week is now over!!! Did a ton of phone calls and faxing and waiting on calls all for nothing. Never got my daughter registered. The final solution is: My hunnie is going to bring her to the high school on monday morning and they can fax the paperwork to home ed and then speak to the supervisor there and get this mess of their puters all worked out and then my kid can sign up for classes. I really thought all this would be settled already but see what thought did on my part.

I am happy that the weekend is here because now I can watch some serious football and take my mind off of other things. My poor GATORS team may not last another loss but hopefully the whole mess with coaches getting fired and who is coming back will be settled soon!!!

My hunnie had to go back to work last night (boohoo). It has been great having him home--but alas that workforce was calling his name and those prisoners are definitely not going to watch themselves.
I cannot believe it is already the end of October and Halloween is here. We really do not celebrate it in our home..just never hit it well with the holiday but I love the look of carved pumpkins..LOL. We really do not have kids going door to door..the mall here provides safe, indoors trick or treating with contests and such so that it is easier for families and such. The year is really flying by and seems to be going faster for some reason.

I am off to watch some great football and yell at the T.V set. Have an AWESOME saturday!!!

PEACE!!!

RED TAPE

I just love maxine...don't you...she speaks her mind and does not hold back...she is my inspiration...LOL. Well we are still going through red tape to get my daughter registered in high school....those people in home schooling are just "screwing" around and I am starting to get extremely upset.
Now before I go on...I first want to say that the weather has been quite decent here...still in the mid to high 80's but no rain no nothing...so that is a relief.
Also I would like to apologize...I seem to always be complaining...I do not mean to...but I would much rather complain here and get it off my mind then complain to those around me and make life miserable..it is so unlike me...but it seems to be a phase I am going through...LOL.
Now onto my complaint of today...I usually do not talk about politics because everyone is entitled to their own opinions but at this point in the political game...I think that the majority of people have decided who they are going to vote for. Well all of a sudden ... our mailbox is JAMMED packed filled with political flyers and such. Kerry's read about how terrible Bush is and Bush's reads about his stand on things...I find that interesting. However, I am tired of the junk mail...for me it is junk mail. Yesterday we had over 18 pieces of mail just on those two...that does not include any local candidates. Also to be totally honest...It is almost for certain that the state of florida will lean towards Bush...people will always remember his kindness during the hurricanes and his brother is our governor--so we are reminded everyday. Also Bush has visited our fair state so much he should take up residency.

Okay enough about politics...I gave myself a headache over that. Today again we will tackle the home school department and hopefully get my baby into high school. This whole thing is only making her worry more. Geez!!!

Also have I mentioned lately that the guest who has been living with us has been gone for a week.... I told her that my daughter cannot get my nephew going for school because she herself will be going ... and now she is living off of someone else and making her life their problem. I am just waiting for her to get her junk out. If she does not show up soon--my hunnie is fixing to throw her things outside...he is so tired ofher garbage and lack of respect and just common decency.

Well I think that soap box is done and over with so I will be off to do something different ... like some hook rug stuffies. Did I ever mention that I hook rug. It is really calming for me and keeps my head busy. I am starting a project for my daughter. It is a wall hanging of a teddy bear...one of the lil things she collects. So it will go perfect with her room.

You all have a GRAND day..... PEACE!!!!

JUST BEING WEIRD

The last couple of days have been very frustrating for us. I have been trying to get my daughter registered into high school and the home ed department still has not released her. I have a fax machine and sent the official notification that I wanted to terminate home schooling with them...but the gosh darn counselor on the other end does not know how to work the fax I guess. I spent over three hours trying to send it...I tried calling the counselor to see what was going on and she, of course, was no where to be found. As usual. I feel bad for my daughter because this only causes a bit of anxiety for her. But on the BRIGHTER side, her dad took her shopping and bought her tons of school supplies and hair thingies and cool sneakers and crazy socks (which she longs for) and a back pack and so on. So that made her excited. My parents a couple of weeks ago took her clothes shopping for her  birthday. (a belated birthday present) so they spoiled the life out of her and bought her close to $200 of new clothes and my daughter can find some DEALS...she will stretch that dollar as far as she can. So the child is all set up. My father did mention however that he does not want to hear about clothes for another year...LOL.

Okay...Today I received this in my email and just found some weird facts interesting....So I thought I would share it all with you.... things that make you go hmmmmm!!!!

IS THE WEEKEND OVER ALREADY?

WOW...for me the weekend just flew by...I can't believe it. At least I got to watch some great football and play on the puter so for me... it was good...LOL

Okay today we have to try and make the registration for my daughter official. The home schooling department needs to take her off their "books" so we can get all this done. She has had the whole weekend to think about all of this--and now she is getting nervous. SHEESH!! Today after calls to the home ed dept and making this official...her dad is going to take her out to breakfast and then to get her hair cut and pick up some "cool" school supplies. So that should make her feel grand! Well more on that saga has the day progresses.

My hunnie surprised me and took the night off from work...so we spent some fun time last night. He had me laughing and being totally goofy. I think we both needed that. Have I mentioned yet that it is time for the first batch of puppies to go....they are now on destruction mode, driving me nuts. I never thought just three lil pups could cause so much chaos. I think my hunnie said that he has homes for them....so that is a relief. When they are leaving is still not known.

I think I have almost caught up on all my journal reading...at least I am pretty sure...gosh I have no idea...well then I should be off to read some more. Sorry this entry was so boring...I think I am coming across a total brain freeze and cannot think of what to say. But if you met me in person...... I seem not to be able to shut up.... go figure!

Well Happy Monday all.......PEACE!!!

GROWING UP

Today was a bit of a stressful one for me...maybe stressful is not the exact word I am looking for but nevertheless...it has made me stop and realize alot of things. Today my hunnie took my daughter to register in our local High School. I was homeschooling her but apparently the home school department must be falling apart in our county. The news is that dozens (yes dozens) of kids are enrolling this past week in our high school. They were all homeschooled but that department has lost all our paperwork...no one there can give a straight answer, and instead of answering your questions or helping you out...they want to blame their incompetencies on the parents...now if it was just a parent or two...that might be the case...but when the high school registrar tells you that she has registered over 50 kids just this past week from homeschooling then I think the problem is on that department. The registrar said that those numbers were just this past week....she said it has been constantly high numbers since the beginning of september.

Anyway..... my daughter is THRILLED about returning back to high school. She cannot wait to see those friends that you only see at school....but she also wanted to try out for herself what high school life is like. I do not blame her. She has matured by leaps and bounds while she was homeschooled and her mind is sharp and very inquisitive, so I know she will do well and take advantage of anything and everything they have to offer. Of course she had to tell me that the school offers their own T-shirts with the mascot and motto of the school on them...so I can see that money is something she will be begging for. Their mascot by the way is a wolf. TOO CUTE!! She is all gun-ho about going to football games and dances and such.... which leads me to the point of my post...my baby is growing up and I do not like it at all. I know she turned 15 and that was easy for me to handle because she was home- but now she is going to High School and facing a whole new world. I am definitely NOT ready to let her grow up but I will have to take things one day at a time. I know I must sound selfish...but she is my heart walking outside my body...and I do not want anything happening to her.

Okay...... thanks for reading my babble..I guess I need to find more hobbies to keep my mind busy...LOL.

I wish you all a WONDERFUL weekend------PEACE~

JUST SLEEPY

Today seemed to be a slow day for me...I really have nothing to talk about. I seem to be still sleeping quite a bit. I always feel exhausted. But outside of that--have I mentioned lately that again our house is filled with puppies. Yes we still have the three that were born during one of the hurricanes and then this week about three days ago our other female rottie gave birth to 8 pups...yes there I said it......8. I do not think I can take many more puppies...the older three are terrorizing the house...if they get a hold of something you can forget about getting it back the same way it was.

Yes that chewing stage is really hazardous but so far no major losses.LOL

Also did I mention that while I was stranded off line I managed to catch up on ALOT of scrapbooking...I think I did approximately 35 more pages...that is a huge relief.
Also I managed to design three collages of pics for xmas pics. They are 8x10 and really came out nice...now all I have to do is find some nice frames to put them in. I also completed a calendar for the 'mother in law'..every year I make her a calendar with everyone's birthday on it and special occassions and every month has a different pic of your grandkids on it. She is absolutely in love with these calendars. So I must say I am quite proud of myself for getting as much done as I did. I know I am the BIGGEST procrastinator on the planet. So now I am ahead of the game.

I have always enjoyed creating things on the computer to give as gifts----so my hobby of photography has come very handy.

I am off to read more journals, which I am trying to catch up on....Have a GREAT friday!!!  PEACE

I'M BAAAACCCK!!!

FINALLY..... I have returned.... I am a bit upset because of all the garbage that has been going on with my dsl and phone and electric. First I want to say that Florida really was not prepared as it should have been for the hurricanes. Yes I am still talking about them because there are still problems going on about them.

Apparently ever since the hurricanes hit and the electric company got our electric running after 8 days of being off...we have been on and off with the power issue. We lose our power or it fades until it is almost gone at least 4-5 times a day...they are STILL working on the lines. They apparently just "rigged" everything to get people going but now you cannot depend on the power. I would not mind so much if it did not make my puter sound like it is going to blow a gasket and if our water and bathrooms were not dependent on the electric.. but it really is putting a toll on our puters and such.

NOW - the phone company did the same thing after the hurricanes..to get everyone going they "rigged" the system to get everyone hooked back up. But At the beginning of this month....my phone was disconnected because they decided to fix the lines but the problem was they could not get people back up and running. So for over two weeks...we have had NO PHONES and NO PUTERS.

AOL decided that the electric company disconnected the lines so the DSL lines went down also... we HAD aol dsl. NOW aol has a policy that if your dsl line is disconnected they will not allow you to use their dsl anymore because they no longer offer that service since february. They stated that ALL aol members were sent emails explaining this... I MUST HAVE MISSED THAT MEMO...sheesh!!!! So it took my phone company TWO WEEKS to send me their dsl...which by the way is more expensive...and after TWO days of fighting with them about us having a router and we wanted to directly link to aol and not through internet explorer..WOW what a battle that was. Thank God for my hunnie because he takes no garbage at all and can be a real pain when he thinks he is getting screwed or getting the run around.

SO finally the issue has been resolved and I AM BACK!!!. I have really missed being online....I am so homebound as it is that my puter is my outside communication and connection. I know that must sound so trivial to some and such a waste for others but I am so thankful that I do have my puter. My health does not always allow me to do what I want and be who I am. So the puter makes up for some things missing in my life.

I also have missed reading everyone's journals and keeping up with you all..... I have so much catching up to do...I will probably be online for a few days straight.....(just kidding).

NOW...things on the homefront are ok. Yes the guest is still here and things are very much on edge but I will leave that garbage for another time. Tomorrow my daughter is going to register back into regular public high school. The home education department here in this county just plain STINKS...I have had 5 different counselors assigned to Crystalyn's file with home education and each one has lost any and all material that has been submitted and I just cannot keep up with that stuff anymore. Also my daughter said she would give it a try and see how things go...she is excited because her brothers graduated from there..so she wants to try out that world for herself.

My hunnie has been off from work for two weeks now...the first week he got hurt on the job...he feel coming off a sidewalk and the doctors thought he broke his ankle...so they wanted him off of his foot for a week to see what is up after the swelling went down...his ankle is ok....VERY SORE but he is doing better now that he does not need the crutches to walk. Well this week was his vacation week. So he has been working on his cars and such and even went down south to collect some car parts he had in his mother's old shed...so he feels like he has done alot. LOL

Well I think I have caught you all up on the lil things and major news...thanks for reading and listening...I will be back...PEACE!!!

JUST ANOTHER DAY

Absolutely nothing going on this weekend at the old homestead...which I guess is good news. For some reason the feeling of being sleepy has hit me hard and I have no idea why. It seems like I cannot get enough sleep to save my life. I am asleep more then I am awake, which is worrying me but I am hoping this passes. The weather is still way to hot for me in the sunshine state. But at least we are not fighting off any hurricanes? I don't even watch the weather reports at this point because I do not want to know anymore if any are coming.

Hunnie has off for the next week......he builds up so much time at his job that he is forced to take time off because they only allow so many hours on the books. So this week we are going to see what kind of trouble we can get ourselves into. I am slowly sneaking in a hunnie-do list but he is catching on quickly. FINALLY--today the county came around and collected all the debris from the hurricanes...it now looks like the street has been cleaned up all pretty and new. So hunnie was outside trying to get the rest of our tree that was split in half ready for them to take. I am glad they took the stuff because in a humid climate such as ours...snakes and such LOVE to live in branch debris and all.

I am still trying to recover from the fact that it is october already. I have no idea where the time has gone.... I am not even ready to get christmas lists and all going...I just cannot get into the mind set for it. This week hopefully we will find a pumpkin and my daughter can carve it this year and does not have to share that with her brothers...and roasted pumpkin seeds...I can smell it now!!

Well I am off to watch more football....can never get enough of that....Have a terrific sunday everyone!   PEACE!!!!!

HAPPY OCTOBER!!!

This was sent to me and I just wanted to share...it has been a very quiet day here on the home front...HAPPY OCTOBER EVERYONE!!!!

If I Had My Life to Live Over
by Erma Bombeck

I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the "good" living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth. I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching TV - and more while watching life.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love yous"...more "I'm sorrys"...
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it...live it...and never give it back.
