I was cruising through the internet...and come to find out that the northern lights are hitting some great areas..at least a couple of days ago they did...so I thought I would share some pics I found with you.
This amazing green arc of aurora occured on the evening of November 7, 2004 between 6:30 pm CST and 7 p.m. CST . It lasted nearly 15 minutes and reached from horizon to horizon. Shot at the Douglas Observatory in Warrensburg, Missorui.
Taken from the skies above alaska...how awesome is that. The colors are called ribbons... From what I could read about it.... northern lights are caused by the sudden energy of a sunspot...it amazes me.
PEACE!!
